Miracle Acquire Machanguana
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ The Orlando Miracle acquired center Clarisse Machanguana from the Charlotte Sting on Thursday for the No. 7 overall pick in the WNBA draft.
It’s Orlando’s first trade since joining the WNBA in 1999.
The 6-foot-5 Machanguana averaged 5.4 points and four rebounds for the Sting last season. Before that, she averaged 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in two seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks.
She has averaged 4.2 points and 2.5 rebounds in 13 playoff games.
Machanguana, a native of Mozambique, is currently playing in Spain for CB Navarra.
Before joining the WNBA, Machanguana played for the ABL’s San Jose Lasers, averaging 10.2 points and 4.8 rebounds.
She helped Old Dominion reach the 1997 NCAA title game.
