A fifth candidate petitions onto gubernatorial ballot
Mark Stewart Greenstein of the Amigo Constitution party has become the fifth gubernatorial candidate to qualify for the November ballot.
The Secretary of the State’s office said Thursday evening Stewart Greenstein had collected more than the 7,500 verified signatures needed to qualify.
Stewart Greenstein joins major party candidates Democrat Ned Lamont and Republican Bob Stefanowski and petitioning candidates Oz Griebel and Rod Hanscomb, who now have spots on the ballot.
Stewart Greenstein, who runs a test prep firm in Newington, ran for president in 2000 and 2016. His platform includes bringing an NHL team to Hartford. He also briefly listed the Governor’s Residence on the online housing marketplace Airbnb in February. Greenstein had raised $111 for his candidacy as of July, filings show.
