McDonald’s area supervisor wins inaugural Golden Arches Chef Contest

March 19, 2019

HUNTINGTON — Robert Rogers, a Huntington resident and area supervisor with McDonald’s, recently took first place at the first Golden Arches Chef Contest.

Robert was a top three finalist in December out of 230 entries, which won a spot to compete at the McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, in mid-February for the title.

This chef-inspired contest for McDonald’s employees, encouraged them to create and submit their own unique recipes using McDonald’s core ingredients (plus one ingredient of their choice).

Finalists competing for the title presented their insanely inventive and delicious creations to a panel of judges, who grilled the contestants on their prep skills, ingredients and the feasibility of making their recipe in the restaurant.

The competition was fierce, but Rogers took home the first place $1,000 prize for his delicious Bullet Proof Milkshake. He won everyone over with his presentation skills and his energy inducing drink.

A news release stated, “Robert has been an outstanding employee with our organization for over 35 years and is well deserving of this award.”
