Billerica Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile Virus
BILLERICA -- Several roads will be sprayed after mosquitoes in North Billerica tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to the town.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health found a “collection” of mosquitoes at a surveillance site in North Billerica.
The Billerica Board of Health announced roads near the Chelmsford border and northeast of Route 3 will be sprayed starting at sunset Thursday evening. Residents in the area sprayed by the town will be notified, according to the release.
This is the first sample that tested positive for West Nile Virus in Billerica this year.
