Latrobe man dies after being thrown from ATV in Cook Township
A Latrobe man driving an all-terrain vehicle died in Cook Township after crashing into a guardrail early Sunday morning, according to the Westmoreland County coroner.
The coroner’s office identified the victim as Nickolas S. Taylor, 24.
“It definitely appears that speed was a factor,” Deputy Coroner Sean Hribal said Sunday.
Hribal pronounced Taylor dead at the scene. The coroner’s office said Taylor died from blunt force injuries; officials said he was not wearing a helmet.
The coroner’s office awaits toxicology reports, a mandatory procedure, that could take several weeks, Hribal said.
