Bridge City High School graduate and Atlanta Falcons kicker Matt Bryant was selected to his first NFL Pro Bowl on Tuesday evening.

He joins fellow Falcons teammates Vic Beasley Jr. (outside linebacker), Devonta Freeman (running back), Julio Jones (wide receiver), Alex Mack (center), Matt Ryan (quarterback) on the roster.

A 15-year veteran, Bryant is currently leading all scorers this season with 135 points.

He has connected on 29-of-31 field goal attempts and is second in the league with a 93.5 field goal percentage.

According to the Falcons’ website, he currently ranks fifth on the NFL’s active field goal percentage leaders (85.6-percent).

In October, Bryant was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month. He broke the franchise record for points scored, held by Morten Andersen, in week eight versus the Green Bay Packers. He has now scored 871 points in eight years with Atlanta, and is fourth on the NFL’s active leaderboard with 1,464 career points.

Bryant also broke Andersen’s franchise record for most field goals made (185) on a 46-yard field goal in the third quarter in week 10.
