Woman dies after shooting; man charged
DARLINGTON, S.C. – Investigators say a woman died of a gunshot wound after she was taken to a hospital by the man who shot her.
The shooting happened Wednesday night in a vehicle traveling on East Bobo Newsom Highway near Hartsville, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.
Coroner Todd Hardee identified the woman as Bartina Robinson of Lamar. She was 41.
According to Sheriff Tony Chavis, the man who shot her was Larry Roger Allen Carroway, 39, of Wedgefield.
Investigators say Carroway shot Robinson with a handgun, took her to the hospital and then fled. The sheriff’s office said Carroway turned himself in Thursday night.
Investigators have gotten warrants charging him with voluntary manslaughter, possession of a firearm by a convicted violent felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
