Former Pocatello woman faces grand theft charges
POCATELLO — A former Pocatello woman charged with grand theft will proceed to trial following a status hearing Monday.
Kerin Renee Reissig, 52, of Chandler, Arizona, is charged with grand theft in connection to payroll and credit card theft from her former employer, Gebo Inc., doing business as Ace Hardware and Element Outfitters in Pocatello.
An out-of-state arrest warrant was issued for Reissig. But when she agreed to return to Bannock County to face the charge against her, that warrant was dismissed and a summons was issued.
Bannock County Deputy Prosecutor Brian Trammell said the trial date was continued following a pretrial conference Monday. A jury trial in the case is set for May 9.
Trammell said while discussions are ongoing, no plea agreement has been reached in the case.
He declined to comment further regarding the pending case against Reissig.
However, Stacie Gebo, co-owner of Ace Hardware and Element Outfitters at 222 South Fifth Avenue, confirmed that Reissig was a former office manager.
Gebo said that in addition to about $9,000 in payroll theft, Reissig is charged in connection to $10,000 in credit card theft. But Gebo said the cost to her company including penalties and fines, amounts to more than $100,000.
Charges against Reissig were filed on July 1, 2015, and she was released on her own recognizance.
