AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo finished up its annual Boo at the Zoo Halloween celebration on Sunday. The family friendly event took place over three weekends in October at the zoo, Oct. 14-15, Oct. 21-22 and Oct. 28-29.

Young trick-or-treaters received passports picked up candy at the zoo’s Enchanted Forest, Candy Land, the Wild West, Farmland, Under the Sea and seven additional stations.

The Akron Zoo also will participated in the Teal Pumpkin Project, a program that allows parents and children with food allergies to pick up a non-food treat at each of the zoo’s trick-or-treat stations.

Boo at the Zoo also featured photo opportunities, decorations and a new menu in the Komodo Kingdom Cafe.

Children and adults were encouraged to wear costume, although the zoo asked that adults avoid wearing masks or other costume face coverings during the event.
