Owens & Minor: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (AP) _ Owens & Minor Inc. (OMI) on Wednesday reported third-quarter net income of $1.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Mechanicsville, Virginia-based company said it had profit of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 22 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 19 cents per share.

The medical supply distributor posted revenue of $2.4 billion in the period.

Owens & Minor expects full-year earnings in the range of 60 cents to 65 cents per share.

Owens & Minor shares have increased 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 31% in the last 12 months.
