HS boys bball: Parker, Thomas, Carr named to ALL-USA Idaho Boys Basketball Teams
Preston senior Brayden Parker, Snake River senior Clancy Thomas and Highland senior Daxton Carr earned 2017-18 All-USA Idaho Boys Basketball honors, released Monday. The Indians’ Tyler Jones was also tabbed as Idaho’s boys basketball coach of the year. Parker was also named the Idaho player of the year.
Parker, who was named to the first team after averaging 20.1 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game this season, and Jones won their third consecutive 4A state championship, capping a 26-0 season. The Indians are the first 4A squad to three-peat since the classification formed in 2001, and the first undefeated Idaho team since Capital went 26-0 in 2013-14.
Thomas was a first-team selection after averaging 17.9 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Panthers, who finished third at the 3A state tournament. He was a first-team selection for the second consecutive year.
Carr was named to the second team after tallying 18.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game. He signed signed National Letter of Intent to continue his career at Cal Poly.
