Child drowns in family pool
LYNN, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts toddler has drowned in his family’s pool.
Police and firefighters responded to reports of a drowning shortly before 6: 20 p.m. Friday night.
Essex County District Attorney’s office says first responders performed CPR on the unresponsive 2-year-old and took him to the Children’s Hospital in Salem where he was pronounced dead.
The DA’s office says foul play was not expected. This is one of several drowning deaths in the last week, including two college students who drowned in the Chicopee River.
