Man dies in shooting at South Carolina tattoo shop
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A 25-year-old man was shot to death outside a South Carolina tattoo parlor and the shooter is talking to investigators, authorities said.
Christopher Devon Fowler died at the hospital shortly after the shooting Monday afternoon at Inkredible Tattoos in Spartanburg, authorities said.
The shooter stayed and talked to deputies and no charges have been filed as the investigation continues, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Lt. Kevin Bobo said in a statement.
Investigators didn’t say what led to the shooting or if there was any relationship between the gunman and the victim. They also did not release the shooter’s name.
The shooting happened at a strip mall and Jerry Radford was in the tobacco store next door.
“They were scuffling out front. Next thing we heard were gunshots — probably six, seven gunshots,” Radford told WSPA-TV.
Kaylyn Pennington’s video camera inside her Allstate insurance office captured the sound of several shots.
Just before the gunfire, Pennington said her employees heard raised voices behind the building.
“They were arguing. Kinda had like a tiff going on in the shop and then out back,” she said.
