Lockouts at Lafayette’s Alicia Sanchez International and Peak to Peak Schools Lifted

December 13, 2018 GMT

Two schools in Lafayette were placed on lockout while police arrested a wanted suspect in the area but have since been cleared to resume normal school activities, according to Boulder Valley School District officials.

BVSD spokesman Randy Barber confirmed Alicia Sanchez International School, 655 Sir Galahad Drive, and Peak to Peak Elementary, 800 Merlin Drive, both went on lockout at around noon. But by 12:30 p.m., the lockout at both schools had been lifted

Lockout means nobody is allowed in or out of the school, but classes continue as usual inside the building.

Lafayette police said they were assisting the Colorado Department of Corrections Parole Division with the arrest of a “dangerous wanted suspect” near 11990 East South Boulder Road and ordered the lockouts due to “extreme caution.”
