Marlene Joy Asuega, 80, of Maricopa, Ariz., and formerly of Chicago and Bourbonnais, passed away Dec.10, 2017.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1937, in Chicago, the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Arquette. She married Nika “Nick” Asuega on July 2, 1960, in Oak Park. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 2015.
Marlene was a devoted nurse and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt to many.
She attended Armitage Baptist Church in Chicago and Calvary Bible Church in Bourbonnais.
Surviving are her daughters, Tina and Carmen; son, David, and daughter-in-law, Rocio; grandchildren, Joshua Jr. and fiancee, Alicia, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Mya, Angelo and Ivan; and sister-in-law, Gloria Arquette.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Nika Asuega Jr.; and a brother, Charles “Chuck” Arquette.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
