FOREST ACRES, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a police officer shot and wounded a woman who crashed into several cars while trying to drive away from a South Carolina bank robbery.

Forest Acres Police Chief Gene Sealy said investigators are looking for the man was with the woman Tuesday morning when they robbed the South Carolina Federal Credit Union at gunpoint.

Authorities say officers arrived as the man and woman left the bank.

Sealy told news outlets the woman jumped into a car and was shot as she tried to drive away. Her name has not been released. She’s still in the hospital.

The chief says 29-year-old Samuel Neathery got away and has likely left the Columbia area. Sealy says a warrant has been issued against Neathery for armed robbery.

No one else was hurt.
