Wiser cruises to New England championship
MANCHESTER, N.H—Pomperaug sophomore Kate Wiser took her dominance to the regional level Saturday as she breezed to a win in the New England championships at Derryfield Park. Wiser won with a time of 18:04.1.
Personal bests were likely set to the backburner as muddy conditions left some finishers in a new coat of skin. Wiser won by almost 40 seconds ahead of Merrimack Valley (N.H.) freshman Sophia Reymonds. New Milford freshman Claire Daniels also turned in an impressive performance, finishing seventh in 18:57.3.
It wasn’t just a positive afternoon for the best individuals. Turns out three of the top six teams in New England reside in very close proximity to one another.
