Fight between Liberty County couple ends with stabbing death of husband
An alleged domestic disturbance at a home on CR 2600 in Old River Subdivision in north Liberty County around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday resulted in the stabbing death of 45-year-old Aaron Christopher Collins, authorities say.
Collins’ wife, 51-year-old Andrea Dawn Deck, reportedly called 911 after the stabbing and explained that it followed an attack on her by Collins.
According to a statement from the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, the couple had been having an argument that morning leading to Collins beating his wife.
“In an effort to defend herself, she ran to the kitchen and secured a knife. When Collins continued attacking her, Beck stabbed her husband in the left upper chest. Collins was deceased when deputies arrived,” the statement reads.
The couple was home alone at the time of the incident, authorities say. No charged have been filed against Beck at this time. The case is being referred to Liberty County District Attorney’s Office, which could present it to a grand jury.
Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Cody Parrish conducted the inquest and ordered an autopsy.
