OWATONNA — Century continued to make progress Thursday night, but Owatonna still emerged a 52-35 winner over the Panthers in Big Nine Conference girls basketball.

Century trailed the Huskies just 26-21 at halftime.

Century is 0-13 in the Big Nine, 0-17 overall. Owatonna is 5-7, 5-10.

“I was very proud of our effort on both ends of the floor tonight,” Century coach Vinnie Mannese said. “The final score was not indicative of how we played. We are getting better at a lot of things and it showed in this game. We are starting to figure out how to properly execute on the offensive end and I thought our defense was very good.”

Owatonna was 23-for-40 from the free throw line, while Century was 8-for-10.

Freshman Addison Clarey led Century with 14 points.
