Route 25 detour in Monroe in effect through the weekend

April 6, 2019

MONROE — Drivers headed through Monroe on Route 25 this weekend can expect to encounter a detour due to an ongoing construction project.

The detour went into effect at 7:15 p.m. Friday and is expected to last through Monday.

The detour is expected to last at least until 6 a.m. Monday. The state Department of Transportation has approved the detour to be extended up to 9 a.m. Monday if enough work can get done so the area doesn’t have to be shut down for another weekend of work.

Traffic will be detoured through the area so the contractor for the state DOT can work on the bridge replacement.

All business access for properties within the construction zone will stay open, but traffic will only be able to access the businesses from one direction.

Any updates on the project will be posted to the Monroe Police Department Facebook page.
