Kirk, Laster lead Ohio to 75-59 victory over Bowing Green
ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Teyvion Kirk and Mike Laster had 16 points apiece as Ohio took an early lead and dominated Bowling Green 75-59 on Tuesday night in preparation for the Mid-American Conference Tournament that begins next week.
Kirk pulled down eight rebounds while dishing out four assists and Laster had seven assists with two steals. Doug Taylor added 14 points, Jordan Dartis had 11 and James Gollon finished with 10 for Ohio (13-16, 6-11). The Bobcats will finish the regular season at Miami (Ohio) on Friday, hoping to move up to a No. 9 seed in the tournament.
Kirk and Taylor had 10 points apiece to lead Ohio to a 39-27 halftime advantage. The Bobcats pushed the lead to 46-33 at the 16:13 mark after Kirk fed Taylor underneath for a dunk. Bowling Green (16-14, 7-10) could not close the gap.
Demajeo Wiggins had 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Falcons, who have lost four straight games.
