May 5, 2019

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Game and Fish Department officials say more than 30 lakes in the state suffered total or significant winterkill.

The department says in a release that 10 lakes suffered total winterkill, which means that all the fish died. That list includes Mitchell Lake, Baumgartner Lake, Jake’s Lake, Larson Lake, Mott Watershed Dam, Leno Lake, Rafferty Lake, Lehr Wildlife Management Area, Coal Lake and Crown Butte Dam.

A complete listing of lakes with winterkill can be found on the department website at www.gf.nd.gov . The page will be updated as other lakes are surveyed by biologists.
