Holy Rosary Students To Host Haunted House

Holy Rosary eighth graders are hosting a haunted house from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Sacred Heart Church Rectory, 529 Stephenson St., Duryea. Admission is $2. Proceeds from the haunted house benefit St. Joseph’s Center, Scranton. The haunted house is being held in conjunction with Duryea Borough Trunk or Treat, which is being held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sacred Heart parking lot. Admission to the trunk or treat is free. All Duryea residents 12 and younger are invited to attend and enjoy activities and refreshments. Anyone who wants to decorate their car and provide candy to the children can register by contacting Leigh Ann Balchune at 570-954-9189. Participants must provide their name, phone number and license plate number. Participants also are responsible for providing their own candy and treats to distribute. The person with the best car trunk as voted on by the children will receive a special treat.
