Washington State Horse Park gala scheduled Nov. 12

SAMMAMISH — Nearly 300 supporters, sponsors and volunteers are expected to gather Saturday at the Sahalee County Club in Sammamish for the first-ever “Unbridled Evening,” a gala fundraiser benefiting the not-for-profit Washington State Horse Park which operates a 112-acre equestrian facility in Cle Elum.

A few tickets remain available and may be ordered by sending an email to gala@wahorsepark.org.

Olympic eventing gold medalist David O’Connor who owns and operates equestrian training centers in Virginia and Florida will keynote the event. His wife, Karen O’Connor, also is an internationally known event rider.

Jeff Renner, former news anchor at KING TV in Seattle will emcee the event which includes silent and live auctions, raffles and entertainment. Among items up for bid are a 2016 Ford Mustang, a Maverick Deluxe horse trailer and a Seahawks “fan package” to a game in San Francisco, and various other items. In addition, a dessert dash and other “for fun” activities are scheduled during the evening.

Business sponsors include the Seahawks, Suncadia, the USGA and others. A number of Kittitas County businesses are donating products and service for the event.
