Donald Trump signs spending bill into law
President Trump signed a bipartisan spending bill Friday morning, saying it will provide stable funding for the military and help the economy.
“Our Military will now be stronger than ever before,” Mr. Trump tweeted. “We love and need our Military and gave them everything and more. First time this has happened in a long time.”
He said the measure “Also means JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!”
The House approved a stopgap bill earlier Friday to keep the government open and to increase spending by about $300 billion over the next two years, moving quickly hours after the Senate voted to ensure that a government shutdown that began at midnight would be short-lived.
