Port of Charleston closing early Monday because of Irma
The State Ports Authority is closing its terminals early Monday because of Tropical Storm Irma.
The maritime agency said all breakbulk and container operations will cease at 2 p.m. and resume Tuesday morning.
No ships were scheduled to be worked at the port Monday. The SPA closed its empty yards earlier in the day but was still receiving import and export cargo.
The authority also said it plans to shut its inland port in Greer from 1-5 p.m. on Tuesday.
