Two leaders suspended from Womack Army Medical Center

February 11, 2017

Two of the top leaders at Womack Army Medical Center have been suspended from duty, the Army said Friday.

Col. Lance C. Raney and Command Sgt. Major Michael T. Stoddard, the commander and senior enlisted man at the hospital are part of what the Army described as “an ongoing investigation.”

“The investigation does not involve patient care,” Tom McCollum, Fort Bragg spokesman, said in a statement. “Womack Army Medical Center remains fully mission capable and will continue to provide safe and quality health care to our beneficiaries.”

As of Friday morning, Col. Johnnie Wright Jr. was the acting commander of the hospital, and Command Sgt. Major Fergus Joseph was serving as interim command sergeant major.
