Beaver Dam woman succumbs to injuries from town of Fox Lake crash

FOX LAKE -- A 71-year-old Beaver Dam woman died at UW Hospital in Madison following a town of Fox Lake crash that occurred on Thursday.

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a press release on Friday that Marjorie Hannan was the passenger in a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash at A and C in the town of Fox Lake at 1:50 p.m.

According to the press release, the investigation shows that a 2012 Ford box truck was southbound on Highway C approaching Highway A. A 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was eastbound on Highway A. The box truck failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the Equinox.

The driver of the box truck, Richard Grede age 61, from Juneau, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital. The driver of the Equinox, Stephen Hannan age 71, from Beaver Dam, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital and later was flown to UW Hospital in Madison. Marjorie Hannan was flown to UW Hospital from the scene with life threatening injuries. She later passed away from her injuries while at the hospital.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate this crash. Assisting at the scene was the Fox Lake Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Fox Lake Fire and EMS, Randolph EMS, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Dodge County Highway Department and U.W. Med Flight.
