Woman fatally shot by officer had domestic violence record
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Court records indicate a woman who allegedly stabbed her young son before being fatally shot by a Henderson police officer had a history of domestic violence.
Local media outlets reported that 37-year-old Claudia Nadia Rodriguez was arrested four times since 2015 on misdemeanor counts of battery constituting domestic violence, resulting in one conviction.
Two other cases were dismissed and one was pending.
Police said Rodriguez was shot Monday during a struggle after officers responded to a 911 disconnect call.
The woman’s son underwent emergency surgery and was expected to survive. His age was reported to be either 6 or 7 years old.
