Basketball star died of suicide at crash site, examiner says
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The Maine Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled that a man died of a suicide when he collapsed at the scene of a traffic crash in July.
Twenty-two-year-old Patrick Lobor was driving one of three vehicles involved in the Portland crash. Police say Lobor got out of his car, stumbled to the middle of an intersection and collapsed. He had suffered a stab wound to the chest.
WGME-TV reports the medical examiner’s office ruled Lobor’s death a suicide on Monday.
The crash happened when Lobor’s car hit two cars stopped at a light in Portland. He had been a basketball star at Deering High School in the city. He also played for a year at Southern Maine Community College.
