“An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt” takes place at the Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Lovett, 59, is a Grammy-winning singer, composer and actor who hails from Texas. “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” from the film “Toy Story,” is among his hits, along with “If I Had a Boat” and “Give Back My Heart.”

He’s known for fusing elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel and blues. Among his accolades, Lovett was given the Americana Music Association’s inaugural Trailblazer Award, and recently was named the Texas State Musician.

Hiatt, 64, is a talented pianist, singer and guitarist, renowned for his prolific songwriting, including tunes such as “Have a Little Faith in Me” and “Feels Like Rain.” His songs have been covered by musicians from Bonnie Raitt and Bob Dylan to Eric Clapton.

The Indiana native has 24 albums to his name and has earned 11 Grammy nominations. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and won the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
