S.A. Asian-Gulf Coast seafood spot expanding to Austin
Pinch Boil House and Bia Bar owners Sean Wen and Andrew Ho have announced plans to expand their brand to Austin. The two are set to open what will be their second restaurant, this one on Austin’s East Side, in the summer.
Wen and Ho were both raised in Houston, where Vietnamese immigrants have evolved the classic Gulf Coast seafood boil into a distinctly Asian-American experience. The two are also graduates from The University of Texas at Austin.
“It’s a literal dream come true for us to be back in Austin. Always hungry, always hustiling,” read a post to social media late Monday night.
Express-News dining critic Mike Sutter gave Pinch 1 ½ stars in a review last November and praised the restaurant’s Dirty Bird fried chicken sandwich in a roundup of notable downtown sandwiches in August.
