High water impacting Carter County, Kentucky as high water signs posted on some are roadways
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. — High water over state highways has been reported in Carter County. As of 9 a.m., high water signs have been placed at the following locations:
— KY 1910, River Road, mile markers 1-2
— KY 1654 at KY 854 at the Carter-Boyd county line near Rush
— KY 1496 in the Willard area, mile markers 6-8
In addition, with many strems and creeks out of their banks, high water also could be approaching or over roads along KY 1 near Hitchins and KY 174 near Soldier or in other low-lying areas.
Motorists are reminded that only a few inches of water can float vehicles. Never drive through high water, and heed the National Weather Service’s advice: Turn around, don’t drown.
