Former First Lady Obama speaks to young women in Boston
BOSTON (AP) — Former First Lady Michelle Obama is visiting Boston as she promotes her new book.
WBZ-AM reports Obama dropped in Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood.
She spoke with young women who are a part of Black Girls Rock, a women’s empowerment and mentorship organization founded by former model Beverly Bond.
The radio station says Obama shared advice for college students and spoke about race, politics and other issues.
Obama is speaking about her autobiography, “Becoming,” Saturday night at TD Garden, the downtown arena home to the NBA’s Boston Celtics and the NHL’s Boston Bruins.
