South Carolina parents arrested, charged in infant’s death
CHESTER, S.C. (AP) — The parents of an infant found dead last May in a South Carolina home have been arrested in North Carolina, authorities said Friday.
The Chester County, South Carolina, Sheriff’s Office said Shedrick Dashun Gallman, 22, and Natricia Wright, 21, were arrested on Thursday in Union County, North Carolina, where they are jailed without bond on a charge of homicide by child abuse, The Herald of Rock Hill reported.
Chester County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Suskin confirmed that Gallman and Wright are the infant’s parents.
According to officials, the child was found dead May 20 at the home, but no other information about the cause of death or manner of death has been released. It’s also not known how long law enforcement had been seeking Gallman and Wright, who were scheduled to appear in court in North Carolina on Friday.
