Alivi Expands Lyft Partnership to Improve Health Outcomes

February 5, 2020 GMT

DORAL, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb 5, 2020--

Alivi, an award-winning company that provides solutions for health plans, today announced it has now connected its proprietary transportation platform, EpicRide, with Lyft, whose mission is to improve people’s lives through the world’s best transportation. The integration leverages the Lyft Concierge API and is a natural next step for Alivi given its work to improve health outcomes by automating rideshare request experience – making it easier and faster to order rides for members of Medicare Advantage plans.

EpicRide is Alivi’s proprietary transportation platform that provides reliable and high-quality Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services. Once a trip is scheduled, it selects the nearest, most reliable driver to provide transportation to medical appointments based on the member’s needs. The platform provides different modalities of transportation depending on the specific needs of the rider. On the back end, the app tracks and documents a driver’s location and destination, which reduces fraudulent trips and claims.

“At Alivi we are dedicated and passionate about helping people - be it through technology, transportation or ancillary provider networks,” said Alivi President, Caleb Rojas. “We’re looking forward to seeing the benefits this partnership brings to the healthcare industry by working to reduce the number of missed medical appointments and increase the effectiveness of the technology used by NEMT providers – especially knowing that when members are not able to get to their medical appointments and have to forgo medical care, it can ultimately lead to more serious health problems,” he added.

“We recognize the impact of transportation on overall health, and this new integration with Alivi will enable us to make a scaled impact for Medicare Advantage programs across the country,” explained Megan Callahan, VP of Healthcare at Lyft. “We’re excited to see the results of this expanded partnership and the positive effect it will have for the millions of people who rely on Alivi for medical transportation.”
