Colorado DMV Rolls Out New System
The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles on Monday rolled out an updated computer system that replaces one that dated to the early 1980s.
The division announced in a news release that the new system, Colorado DRIVES, replaces the Colorado State Title and Registration System, which was installed between 1983 and 1987. The new system is web-based.
The new system is being used in all county motor vehicle offices to provide vehicle title and registration services. The system is functioning overall, but the project team has identified a printing issue that is causing delays at some offices. Wait times are expected to decrease as issues are resolved and employees adjust to the new system.
In the mean time, residents are encouraged to use online services at mydmv.colorado.gov .
