ISU Honor’s Student Kirk Long earns prestigious internship

July 6, 2016 GMT

ISU’s Honor’s student, Kirk Long, visited with astrophysicist, “StarTalk” creator, and Hayden Planetarium director Neil deGrasse

Tyson, when he came to Boise, Idaho in June.

Long continued conferencing with staff at “StarTalk” after the initial meeting and a fall internship for Long was created. He’ll still be at ISU in the fall but will be doing most of the work remotely, with a few trips to New York to participate in tapings at the Museum of Natural

History/Hayden Planetarium. He’ll also get to work with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Bill Nye and other scientists that are involved with

“StarTalk.” Internship specifics are still in the works but Long knows

for certain that he will be writing blogs, managing social media and

doing background research for the shows.
