Bill credit offered to customers affected by flooding
TEAYS VALLEY — The Putnam PSD Board of Commissioners has approved a one-time bill credit equivalent to 1,000 gallons of water and/or 1,000 gallons of sewer collection to be applied to a future bill for those who had to use excess water for flood recovery due to the localized flash flooding on May 26, 2018.
Those who believe their PPSD-served property qualifies for this credit should follow these steps: When you receive your bill that includes days in which you used excess water for flood cleanup, pay it as usual.
After paying the bill, write a brief note or letter that includes the following: a specific request for an adjustment related to excess water usage as a direct result of the May 26 flood, a brief description of how the extra water was used, your Putnam PSD account number (can be found on your monthly statement), your service (physical location, not billing/mailing) address, a current daytime phone number and a customer signature.
Submit the request in writing to the PSD office by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6. Late or incomplete requests will not be processed. They can be dropped off at the office at 74 Scott Depot Road in Teays Valley or mailed to Putnam PSD, PO Box 860, Scott Depot, WV 25560.
After the deadline, requests will be reviewed and, if accepted, the adjustment will be applied as a credit to a future bill. This will be a $22.96 credit for approved Putnam PSD water and sewer customers and $11.08 for approved water-only customers.
Any customers with questions about the process or their eligibility should call the PPSD office at 304-757-6551.
