Española Humane: Skyy, 7, is so much more than a hound dog! She’s sweet, playful and an all-around great package. She’d do great in a home setting with lots of land where she has space to roam and follow her nose. She likes other large dogs but doesn’t do well with smaller ones. Sugar is as majestic as they come and calm as can be. This 2-year-old girl walks great on leash and would love to go on hikes. She doesn’t mind other large dogs but doesn’t like small animals or cats.

These and other animals are available for adoption at the shelter, 108 Hamm Parkway. The shelter is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Call 505-753-8662 or visit www.evalleyshelter.org.

Felines & Friends: Shy Roscoe is ready for a home where he can settle. He is somewhat selective about his feline friends but is generally a playful cat. He suffered some dental issues that forced the removal of most of his teeth but is doing well now. Xander would do best as the only cat in a home where he has all the attention. He has gotten along with a gentle dog. He’s a handsome male cat with a short coat and two different colored eyes.

Cats of all ages are available for adoption from Felines & Friends; visit them at Teca Tu at the DeVargas Center, Petco on Cerrillos Road and Santa Fe Cats. Adoption advisers are available from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at Petco, noon to 3 p.m. the first Saturday of the month at Teca Tu or by appointment.
