Three new Jeeps taken from Lincoln auto dealer

December 28, 2018

Three 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokees were taken from Baxter Auto in north Lincoln this week, a Lincoln police spokesman said Thursday.

On Wednesday morning, an employee at the dealership at 6601 Telluride Drive found a building window had been broken out and storage lockers containing key fobs had been pried open, Officer Luke Bonkiewicz said.

The new Jeeps were taken by an unknown number of burglars between 9:30 p.m. Dec. 23 and 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, Bonkiewicz said.

The Jeeps, which are red and black, had not been found as of Thursday morning, he said.

Police put the total loss to the business at $275,000.
