Firearm found in car of Cy Creek High School student
A gun was found in a student’s vehicle in the Cypress Creek High School student parking lot on Monday morning, according to the Cy-Fair ISD Police Department.
The firearm was discovered during a random sweep of the parking lot done by the school district police department.
Leslie Francis, assistant superintendent for communication and community relations, said the student was identified and removed from campus. Francis did not release name the student.
“We work diligently to maintain a safe school environment for every student and staff member and are grateful to the Cypress-Fairbanks Police Department for taking a proactive approach to safety,” she said in an official statement.
Francis said law enforcement is currently investigating the issue.
