Basketball: Cleveland lands two players on District 21-5A team
Cleveland had two players named to the boys District 21-5A basketball team.
Senior forward Chance Brown was named to the first team.
Brown led the Indians this season, averaging 27 points and 12 rebounds a game for the Indians.
TJ Warren was named to the second team.
Warren averaged 14 points a game for the Indians.
The Indians finished tied for fourth place in district, but came up short in a play in game that would have put them in the playoffs.
Barbers Hill’s Max Armer was named the district Most Valuable Player. Nederland’s Hayden Hefner was named the Offensive Player of the Year while Port Arthur’s Nathan Clover was named the Defensive Player of the Year. Port Arthur’s Amaree Abram was named the Newcomer of the Year.
Barbers Hill coach Chris Pennington and Port Arthur coach Alden Lewis we named Co-Coaches of the Year.
