Kankakee man arrested in the death of his brother
KANKAKEE — Theo Chester, 39, of Kankakee, has been preliminarily charged by Kankakee police with first degree murder of his brother, George D. Chester, on Monday night.
Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner said this morning that George Chester, 28, died of multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital at 10:15 p.m.
An autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
There was an altercation between the brothers, Investigations Commander of Kankakee Police Dave Skelly told the Daily Journal this morning.
He could not comment on a possible reason why the men got into the altercation.
The stabbing occurred at a home in the 400 block of South Chicago Avenue, at 9:30 p.m., according to investigators.
George Chester was found in the kitchen.
Several witnesses at the scene were interviewed prior to Theo Chester being arrested.
