Country stars to headline this summer’s Madison County Fair

March 24, 2018 GMT

MADISON — Two country artists — one an established star and the other a pair of up-and-comers — will be the featured entertainment at the Madison County Fair here this July.

The performers for the 2018 fair are Brothers Osborne and Dustin Lynch, who will be playing July 14 and 15, respectively, the final two days of this year’s fair.

Brothers Osborne are made up of John and TJ Osborne, who are originally from Maryland. The pair won both Vocal Duo of the Year and New Vocal Duo/Group of the Year at Academy of Country Music Awards last April.

They debuted in 2013 with the Top 40 single “Let’s Go There,” and have followed with other hits including “Stay a Little Longer” in 2015 and “It Ain’t My Fault” in 2017. Their only album to date, “Pawn Shop,” peaked at No. 3 in the U.S. country album charts. They have a new single set to release on April 20.

Dustin Lynch has released three albums, all of which have been in the top two U.S. country albums and all of his eight singles since 2012 have reached the U.S. Country top 40 — six of them reached the top 10. He has toured as an opener for country stars such as Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Florida Georgia Line.

Linda Haack, the treasurer of the Madison County Fair board of directors, said that based on reactions from social media and meeting with people in person, the two acts are expected to be a big hit.

The board began the booking process shortly after last year’s fair ended in July.

Brothers Osborne will perform Saturday night, July 14, at 8:30 p.m. and Dustin Lynch will perform Sunday night, July 15, at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale for the concerts on May 5. Options include a $30 pass to both concerts, a $40 pass for both the concerts as well as rodeo performances on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; and a $50 pass with reserved seating at the concerts and the rodeos.

In addition to the concerts and rodeos, there will also be a nightly carnival, 4-H and FFA animal shows, petting zoos and other attractions.
