Police: Officer in Virginia shoots, wounds armed suspect
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — Police in Virginia say an officer shot and injured an armed suspect who had been involved in a shooting.
News outlets report that Virginia Beach police said dispatchers received several 911 calls of shots being fired Sunday night.
Responding officers heard gunfire before finding an armed suspect. A police statement says one officer fired his gun after confronting the suspect, who is expected to survive.
Police say a second person was later found shot at a nearby home. That person was taken to a hospital and released. Police have not released the identities of the suspect or the second person.
Police say charges against the suspect are pending.? They have not yet said whether it was recorded on police body camera or dashboard camera.
