Frieda Faye Boyd, 54, of Herscher, passed away Friday (July 20, 2018) after a heroic battle with brain cancer.
She was born Nov. 10, 1963, in Herscher, the daughter of Levern and Constance (nee Wheeler) Denault as the 11th child out of an eventual 14.
Frieda graduated from Herscher High School in 1981 and was married to Ronald Boyd Aug. 14, 1982, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Herscher. She was most recently a dedicated employee of Medline Industries for seven years, a job which she enjoyed immensely. Frieda was a hard worker, a beloved mother, a dedicated sister, a cherished daughter, adored aunt and a fierce friend who will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Surviving are her mother; her husband, Ronald Boyd; her three loving sons, Ryan (Kristin) Boyd, Keith (Ashley) Boyd and Kevin (Leanne) Boyd; her granddaughter, Ensley; her 13 siblings, Levern (Victoria) Denault, Wanda Warman, Mary Latta, Peter (Diane) Denault, Damian (Mary) Denault, Grace (Mark) Troyer, Rebecca (Brian) Berger, Monica (Rick) Decorie, Angela (Ed) Jones, Ralph (Patricia) Denault, Lyle Denault, Elizabeth (Mark) Chapman and Mark (Tamara) Denault; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Kankakee Chapel. A celebration of life will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the Knights of Columbus, 187 S. Indiana Ave., Kankakee. Frieda especially loved potluck-style parties, so the family asks that attendees bring a food dish to share.
Memorials may be made to the Kankakee Chapter of Relay for Life.
