Carbon Black: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) _ Carbon Black Inc. (CBLK) on Thursday reported a loss of $17.6 million in its third quarter.

The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company said it had a loss of 26 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, came to 20 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 25 cents per share.

The cybersecurity company posted revenue of $53.4 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $52.7 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Carbon Black expects its results to range from a loss of 25 cents per share to a loss of 24 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $55.3 million to $55.8 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.

Carbon Black expects full-year results to range from a loss of $1.21 per share to a loss of $1.20 per share, with revenue ranging from $208.1 million to $208.6 million.
