Judge won’t dismiss charges against Amtrak engineer in fatal derailment

A judge has denied a motion to dismiss charges against the Amtrak engineer who operated a train that derailed two years ago killing eight and injuring more than 150 people.

Engineer Brandon Bostian is charged with eight counts of involuntary manslaughter and one count of causing or risking a catastrophe, and 238 counts of reckless endangerment.
