Fond du Lac man found guilty of disorderly conduct after making a threat at Karavan
JUNEAU — A 23-year-old Fond du Lac man was found guilty of a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct on Wednesday after causing a bomb scare at a Fox Lake factory.
Juan A. Gonzalez entered a no contest plea to the amended charge and was found guilty by Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Steven Bauer, who fined him $500.
Gonzalez warned two other workers at Karavan Trailers in Fox Lake about his intent to blow Karavan up in July. He was originally charged with making a bomb threat, but the charges were reduced by the district attorney’s office.
According to the criminal complaint, the human resources director contacted the Fox Lake Police Department July 23 after hearing about the alleged threat. The two employees were interviewed and they said Gonzalez had a straight face when he told them about the threat without seeming like he was joking.
Gonzalez allegedly admitted to making the threats, but said he was joking.
